Frequently Asked Questions

What's the best way to schedule a grooming appointment?

It would be the best if you fill out the “Request an appointment” form on the website.

That’s the easiest and most convenient way of communication. This way we’ll get your and your dog’s information and will be able to see when we can fit your dog in the schedule. We will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

Do I need to be home for the grooming?

We would like you to be home for the first visit so that the groomer can introduce themselves to your dog in your presence.

If your dog is very chill and calm, you can even stay in the same room while the groomer is working. If this is not the case and your pup is easily excitable/anxious/deeply attached to you, it would be better for you to stay in a different room for the duration of the grooming appointment for the sake of your pet’s safety. Don’t forget that we use sharp tools.

In the future if you have some errands to do and if you’re comfortable with the arrangement, the groomer can groom your dog while you’re not home. Just let the doorman know so that the front desk will have the name in the system/ have an extra set of keys to your apartment. We will text you as soon as your pup is ready!

How do I pay?

Cash and Zelle are preferred methods of payment. Personal checks are accepted as well.

What will you need to use in my apartment?
The groomer will need

a space to bathe your dog – clean sink (deep enough for your pet to fit in) or a bathtub (if you don’t have a detachable shower head please let us know and the groomer will bring a shower head extension)

a flat surface to groom – usually a kitchen counter or a bathroom vanity. If that’s not possible to use, we’ll ask you for a cutting board (wrapped in grocery bag/trash bag to leave it clean/free from hair) to put over the bathroom sink. We don’t bring a grooming table with us.

A pair of fresh large fluffy towels. Old cotton towels are the best.

That’s all! The groomer brings everything else – all the necessary equipment,  tools and shampoos.

Will the hair be flying around my apartment after the groom?

No, definitely not. The groomer will clean up afterwards, but if you’re concerned, you can arrange the grooming appointment a day before your housekeeper comes.

Are you insured?

Yes, we are fully insured through Hartford.

How long will my dog’s groom take?

Usually from 1.5 to 2 hours. Handstripping appointment may take as long as 3 hours.

Can you use my own shampoo?

Unless it’s a shampoo prescribed by your ver, we prefer to use our preferred lines of professional dog grooming products. We only use premium quality shampoos and conditioners and use appropriate products according to your pet’s color, hair structure, coat and skin condition.

What do I need to do prior to the groomer’s arrival?

It is important that your apartment is quiet during the grooming process. No vacuuming/ construction/other distractions. A bathroom or a kitchen with closed doors is preferred.

No spectators around. Please let the groomer work without interruptions.

Do you groom aggressive dogs?
Not at this time
What if my dog is scared of the blow dryer?

The groomer will towel dry your pet very well to reduce the time spent drying. We will use the lowest setting on the dryer as well to let your dog acclimate to the sound.

Will you need my help?

No, we are used to and prefer grooming solo.

My dog has some matting, but I don’t want it to be shaved.

If your dog has some matting, and tolerates brushing, the groomer will brush it out for an extra fee, but if there is severe matting/pelting, there is no alternative but to shave down the entire coat and start from scratch. The key to avoid matting is having your dog on a regular grooming schedule in the first place.
